This announcement was made at a Defence Day function organized by the Serving Hands Organization in collaboration with the Public Relation Management Group on Saturday evening. Privatization Secretary Tehseen Khan Iqbal and founder of burns ward at NICH Prof Dr Nizam were also present on the occasion.

Dr Sikandar Ali Shaikh, the chairman of the NGO, said that there was a dire need for building a specialized burns hospital in the country. He said that there were some burns ward in general hospitals but they could not handle complicated third degree burns. Most of such patients were poor while the treatment of burns was very costly, he added.
