KARACHI: Peaceful city guarantees progress, says Ibad


KARACHI, Sept 5: Sindh Governor Ishratul Ibad has said that a peaceful, prosperous, developed and civilized Karachi guarantees progress of the entire country and the nation. “The improving situation of this city cast good effects on the whole country and its advantages reach the common man,” he said while presiding over a high-level meeting held at Governor’s House. The meeting, which reviewed the overall situation of the metropolis, was attended by Sindh Local Government Adviser Waseem Akhtar, Chief Secretary Fazlur Rehman, DG Rangers Maj-Gen Javed Zia, Principal Secretary Saleem Khan, and DCO Fazlur Rehman.

The governor said that city’s normal life was restored due to continuous hard work and coordinated efforts during the last few years. He said the effects of development in the industrial and economic sectors had started disseminating and employment opportunities were growing with increasing investment.

He recalled that previously the investors used to think about winding up their activities from Karachi, but at present every second industry was keen for expansion in the industrial areas. Besides, industrial activities were growing in Nooriabad and other areas in the interior of Sindh, he said.

In the meeting, various steps were considered for accelerating the pace of ongoing development schemes and fully focussing on transport sector.
