KARACHI, Aug 28: Leader of the Opposition in Sindh Assembly Nisar Ahmed Khuhro on Sunday said that threats to fill jails with PPP workers would not work, as PPP workers had braved dictators in the past as well.

In a joint press statement issued on Sunday, he said it was strange that a man who was a non-entity in the politics of Sindh a few years back had started posing as monster for the people “with the backing of some generals and colonels, as he himself had admitted”.

The PPP leaders said that threats by Arbab Rahim to overcrowd jails with PPP workers could not demoralize them.

He said no less than scrapping of the whole sham local bodies elections would be acceptable to all democratic and liberal forces of the country would unite to carry out a decisive movement against the regime.—PPI
