DADU, Aug 28: Former MPA Syed Ghulam Shah Jilani and ADP candidate for nazim of UC Chhini, Syed Shahan Shah, has alleged that SHO Ayub Shahani and SHO Din Mohammad along with 12 armed men cast hundreds of bogus votes in Pir Gaji Shah Hassan and Jan Mohammad Rodhnani polling stations in favour of the Dadu Ittehad Panel nazim.

Speaking at a press conference here on Sunday, they said the police officials and armed men did not allow agents of ADP candidates to enter the polling stations.

They said when agents and supporters of ADP candidates had asked them to stop the casting of bogus votes, the armed men injured at least 12 supporters of ADP candidates.

They said armed men forcibly entered polling stations and stopped the polling at lunch time.

They torn ballot papers and got results of Pir Gaji Shah Shah Hassan and Jan Mohammad Rodhnani polling stations from the presiding officers at gunpoint.

They alleged that the armed men were led by Ghulam Ali Shahani and candidate for nazim UC Chhinni and Bula Khan Shahani.

The PPP leaders regretted that they had sought police help and on the contrary police opened fire on them.

They said they had requested high police officials to register FIR against armed men but in vain.

They said SHOs of the Tando Rahim Khan and Shah Hassan police stations were posted to support Shahanis, a few days before local elections. They demanded re-election in UC Chhini.

DEMAND: The Dadu Ittehad Panel candidate for seat of nazim UC-1, Dadu town, Shahid Abbasi, alleged that agents of his rival candidate had cast bogus votes at women polling stations at the K.G. School and Gharibabad School.

Speaking at a press conference here on Sunday, he demanded re-election in UC-1 of the town.

ACTION: After complaints of the Dadu Ittehad Panel candidates, the Sindh police department has taken action against SHO Dadu town, Inspector Javed Tunio and directed him to report at police lines on Sunday.

SI Akbar Lund was posted as new SHO Dadu town.
