Pakistan to take up prisoners’ issue with India


ISLAMABAD, Aug 27: Pakistan and India will hold talks in New Delhi on Monday to work out modalities to curb terrorism and drug trafficking, however, Islamabad will also take up the issue of 611 Pakistanis languishing in Indian jails.

Interior ministry sources informed Online that Interior Secretary Kamal Shah would head for New Delhi on Sunday (today) to hold parleys with his Indian counterpart on issues pertaining to terrorism and drug smuggling.

Sources said that the issue of Pakistani prisoners in Indian jails would also figure in the talks.

Progress on past decisions made by Pakistan and India would also be reviewed during the Monday talks, they added.—Online
