DADU, Aug 26: Chief of the Shahani clan, Ghulam Ali Shahani, was injured in an exchange of fire with Rangers personnel in Dadu town on Thursday night. A candidate of the Dadu Ittehad Panel at UC Chhinni, Johi taluka, Bula Khan Shahani, who is a relative of federal Minister for Water and Power, Liaquat Ali Jatoi, along with his uncle and chief of Shahani clan, Sardar Ghulam Ali Shahani, resorted to firing into the air outside their house in Dadu town on Thursday night after winning the seat of UC Chhinni.

Rangers on patrol asked them to stop firing but they refused.

A clash took place between the armed men and Rangers. As a result, Sardar Ghulam Ali Shahani was injured.

Rangers detained Sardar Ghulam Ali Shahani and Bula Khan Shahani and seized two pistols and 10 bullets from them.

Rangers handed them over to the Dadu town police.

Dadu town police registered an FIR under section 188 Cr PC and sent them to lock-up.

SHO Javed Ahmed Tunio said Sardar Ghulam Ali and Bula Khan Shahani were creating law and order situation hence they were arrested.

EDO: The EDO health has said two medical boards have been constituted to look into causes of four disabled children of a family in the Haji Hassan Lund village, Dadu taluka.

He was speaking at a press conference here on Thursday.
