KARACHI, Aug 20: The Ferozabad police on Friday kept the staff of a demolition squad of Karachi Building Control Authority (KBCA) in illegal confinement for one hour, said a KBCA press release.

It said that a demolition squad was razing illegal constructions in a street near Plots No 37-G, 37-H and 37-J in Block 6 of PECHS, when an ASI made interference into its work. He later summoned more police officials in a mobile and kept the staff of the demolition squad in illegal custody at the Ferozabad police station.

The concerned demolition team was later released.

The KBCA has informed the police highups about this incident and an FIR was being lodged against the police staff.

The Town Building Control Officer, Jamshed Town, has said that action against dismantling all the illegally raised walls in the area would be fully carried out to reopen the alleys leading to Hill Park and facilitate the public movement.—PPI/APP
