KHAIRPUR, Aug 9: People’s Party Parliamentarians MPA Nawab Wassan has alleged that candidates of Awam Dost panel and their supporters are being harassed by police and they are not being allowed to hold corner meetings.

He was speaking at a press conference here on Tuesday.

Mr Wassan claimed that instructions had been issued to police to prevent ADP candidates for the local body polls from holding corner meetings and limit their election activities. He said police had dispersed people when ADP candidates had tried to hold a corner meeting. He also accused police of threatening voters not to come out of their homes on the polling day. He did not rule out the possibility of a clash between police and voters.

He alleged that policemen from Jani Buriro, Kumb, Chhodaho, Bozdar Wadda police posts and the Kotdigi police threatened people not to vote for ADP candidates.

He said the ADP would win the polls in the Kotdiji taluka with a big margin because in the last local body elections, it had emerged victorious in 10 out of 11 union councils.
