WANA, Aug 8: A tractor blew up when it struck a landmine in the Angoor Adda area of the South Waziristan Agency on Sunday, sources said. However, no one was hurt.

The tractor was reportedly carrying construction material to an allied forces camp on the other side of the border in Afghanistan.

Meanwhile, a headless body was found in Mosa Neka Ziarat near Angoor Adda close to the Afghan border.

The security forces took the body to Wana to establish identity of the deceased.

The officials said that it was third headless body found in the area during the past 10 days.

Earlier, two headless bodies were found near the Afghan border, one of which was believed to be that of an Arab national.

DISPUTE: A clash erupted between the Saleemkai and Buryankhel tribes in the Makeen area over a dispute on the ownership of a mountain.

Sources said the rival tribes pounded each other’s positions with heavy fire. However, no loss of life was reported.

The exchange of fire began when a tribal jirga failed to resolve the dispute.

An official said in Wana that the political authorities had sent paramilitary forces to the area to broker a ceasefire between the two tribes.
