PESHAWAR, Aug 6: People in the NWFP and Fata are taking keen interest in Independence Day celebrations. Student groups, political parties and different organizations have already finalized their respective programmes. Various events, including declamation contests, national songs and sporting activities, have been planned in connection with the country’s Independence Day.

The national flag adorns shops and homes across the province. Banners, stickers and colourful badges can be found almost everywhere.

A cycle race was held in Peshawar on Thursday in connection with the celebrations. The District Cycling Association will conduct another sporting event on Aug 12. —APP
