Inter-university championship from Friday
KARACHI, Aug 1: Twelve universities of the city will feature in the inaugural PCB Inter-university cricket championship which opens on Friday, organizers announced on Monday. Karachi University take on Hamdard University in the opening match.
Teams are drawn in three groups, with KU, Hamdard, Baqai Medical and Ziauddin in Group ‘A’; NED, Muhammad Ali Jinnah University, Textile Institute of Pakistan and Iqra University in Group ‘B’, and Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology, Urdu University, Institute of Business Administration (IBM) and Greenwich University Group ‘C’. The event that concludes on Aug 21 will be supervised by Test and first class umpires and match referees.—APP
