Parco men freed after 46 days

DERA GHAZI KHAN, Aug 1: Three Parco men kidnapped 46 days back were released by the abductors on Monday. The freed Parco men were brought here by PML district additional secretary-general Ramazan Jarh, who claimed that the kidnappers released the officials— Akram, Ehsan and Saeed— without taking any ransom.

Parco men were allegedly abducted by Nukani-cum-Bosan gang, notorious for kidnap-for-ransom activities, when they were patrolling on a van along the crude oil pipeline in the limits of Drahma police station. Mr Jarh claimed the release was made possible due to the joint efforts of police and some influential people of Jamal Leghari group, who held a dialogue with the kidnappers.

Former tehsil Nazim Khalid Rauf claimed that there was no role of police in the release of the captives. DPO Sulman Chaudhry said that the release was a joint ‘venture’ carried out by police and some influential people of Punjab and Balochistan. Kidnappers have yet not returned the Parco van. — Correspondent
