According to police, Mir Sher Jan, 14, fell into a ditch full of water in the jurisdiction of Shahzad Town police station. People present at the scene rushed to his rescue and retrieved him from the ditch, but he died before reaching the hospital. The body was later shifted to District Headquarters Hospital.

The CDA authorities had dug the site for construction and most of the ditches were full of rain water.
