ATTOCK, July 12: A teenage boy was shot dead and a girl seriously injured during a dacoity attempt at People’s Colony here on Tuesday evening. According to police sources, three dacoits entered the house of Sarfaraz Khan and held the inmates at gunpoint. The intruders opened when the inmates put up resistance, which resulted in serious injuries to Kalsoom, daughter of Sarfarz Khan.

Later, the culprits fled after looting cash, jewellery, mobile phones and other valuables worth millions of rupees.

In the meantime, some boys, playing outside the house, raised the alarm after seeing the dacoits and started to chase them. On this, the dacoits opened fire on them, killing 18-year- old Kashif on the spot.

The situation was immediately brought to the notice of the local police, who rushed to the spot and shifted the injured girl to the district headquarters hospital, while another police party was dispatched after the accused, the sources said.
