Malaysian firms want joint ventures in dairy sector

ISLAMABAD, July 6: Malaysian firms are keen to invest in joint ventures in Pakistan, especially in the dairy and livestock sector, the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) said on Wednesday. A delegation of the RCCI gained that impression during its recent visit to Malaysia, a press release of the chamber said. It quoted the deputy leader the delegation, Mian Habibur Rehman, as describing the visit “fruitful” on return from Kuala Lumpur. Mian Habibur Rehman said the delegation held talks with Malaysia’s Trade Minister Rafida Aziz. The RCCI delegates were also part of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce delegation which called on Malaysian Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmed Badawi when he visited the Organization of Islamic Conference business forum.

Pakistani delegates visited a number of production units in Malaysia and held interactive sessions with the Chamber of Commerce of Malaysia and other corporate entities. It also participated in the OIC business forum held in Putrajaya where it had the opportunity to exchange views with the delegates of other Muslim countries.
