MQM to contest local polls in Balochistan

By Our Correspondent

QUETTA, July 3: Senator Allama Abbas Kumali, leader of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement, has said the party will contest local bodies’ polls in Balochistan and continue the struggle to liberate poor people from the yoke of feudalism.

Speaking at the inauguration of an MQM office at Alamdar Road here on Sunday, he claimed that the party represented the middle class and poor masses and was the only party which had awarded tickets for assemblies to commoners.

He alleged that two per cent of the feudal class was exploiting the total population.

Senator Kumali said that the MQM was not a party but an organized movement that was struggling to bring about a change in the political culture of the society.

He urged Baloch people to support MQM candidates in the local bodies’ elections.

He claimed that the MQM did not believe in negative politics as it enjoyed the backing of the masses.
