TOKYO, June 30: Firefighters put out a fire late Thursday at a low-level nuclear waste processing facility at a plant in central Japan, a trade ministry official said, adding there were no injuries.
The government’s monitoring post near the Hamaoka Nuclear Power Plant along the Pacific Coast in Shizuoka province, some 180 kilometres west of Tokyo, detected no leak of radioactivity, he said.—AFP
