NHA okays highway projects

ISLAMABAD, June 27: The National Highway Authority (NHA) Executive Board on Monday reviewed matters relating to construction, extension and maintenance of national highway and motorway projects. The board meeting was presided over by NHA Chairman Maj-Gen Farrukh Javed. The board approved awarding of contracts for widening and improvement of sub-sections of Kalat-Quetta-Chaman highways, which include Kalat-Khad-Koocha and Khad-Koocha-Quetta. The Asian Development Bank (ADB) will provide funds for these projects.

PC-I for the construction of 15 bridges over Karachi-Ghauro- Thatta-Hyderabad highway and PC-I for improvement of Kararo-Wad section were also approved.

The meeting also approved repair of the existing bridges over Qila Saifullah-Loralai-D.G. Khan-Multan highway.

Speaking at the meeting, Maj-Gen Javed said the NHA would continue efforts for the quality and timely completion of construction, extension and maintenance of national highway and motorway projects.
