European stocks

LONDON, June 21: European stock exchanges turned stronger Tuesday on a continued slide in the euro — which holds out prospects for increased eurozone exports — and positive economic news on German business confidence.

The London FTSE 100 index rose 0.19 per cent to 5,082.1 while in Paris the CAC 40 added 0.68 per cent to reach 4,222.02. The Frankfurt DAX closed at 4,608.11, a gain of 0.46 per cent from Monday.—AFP
