KARACHI, May 17: A policeman committed suicide in New Karachi on Tuesday. A duty officer of the New Karachi Industrial Area police station said that Head Constable Muhammad Ashraf, 45, ended his life by hanging himself from the ceiling fan in his house in Khemeso Goth. His body was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for postmortem examination.

The head constable, posted at Khawaja Ajmair Headquarters, had four children.

ACCIDENTS: Two persons died in separate road accidents in different parts of the city on Tuesday.

In Defence, Junaid Aslam, 35, was on his motorcycle (KCG-1459) when he was hit by a speeding water tanker. Police said that the victim was rushed to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

In Sohrab Goth, a pedestrian was crossing the main road when he was hit by a vehicle near Al-Asif Square. His body was shifted to Abbasi Hospital.
