KARACHI, May 7: Speakers at a demonstration on Saturday demanded resignation of the provincial home minister who, they said, had failed to get the law and order situation improved. They also criticized police for failing to conduct proper investigation into the killing of Dr Saleem Chaudhry, principal of Dawood College of Engineering and Technology.

Participants of the demonstration, organized by the Karachi Rural Network at the Karachi Press Club, demanded immediate arrest of the killers.

They noted that while police had failed to arrest Dr Chaudhry’s killers, his family was constantly receiving threatening calls warning it against pursing the case.

The speakers, Mujahid Jokhio, Somar Jokhio, Rashid Baloch and others, demanded that the inquiry into the killing be handed over to some honest and efficient police officials.
