ISLAMABAD, May 3: Aqeel Khan is set to defend his title at the National Clay court tennis championship starting at the Islamabad Club on Wednesday. The events to be contested during the weeklong championship being held for the third time running following its revival after 16 years are men’s singles and doubles, ladies singles and juniors (under-17 and 13). Tournament officials said that a girls’ under-18 event may also be organised if the required number of entries were received. The event that offers a prize purse of Rs100,000 has also attracted top players Nomi Qamar and Asim Shafik.
