SUKKUR, May 3: Ghotki police arrested the commander of the Sundrani force, Ehsan Sundrani, on Tuesday causing tension among tribesmen. Mr Sundrani, who also head of an anti-dacoit force, has alleged that his arrest was politically motivated and accused the Ghotki Nazim Ali Gohar Mahar of being behind the police action.

Ghotki DPO Agha Tahir had summoned the Lakhan and Sundrani tribesmen to settle the ongoing dispute between two tribes in which one person from the Lakhan tribe was killed.

As a result of clashes, survey work being carried out by the OGDC was suspended.
