KARACHI, May 3: Federal Communication Minister Shamim Siddiqi paid a visit to various localities of Malir on Monday and inaugurated the newly laid water pipeline in D-4 and H areas.

Speaking on the occasion, the federal minister said he was fully aware of the problems being faced by the people of Malir and would make every effort to bring this area at par with the developed areas.

Mr Siddiqi informed that the road from Liaquat Market to Saudabad was being constructed at a cost of Rs10 million.

He noted the deteriorated condition of sewerage system in Malir and announced an amount of Rs8 million for its improvement.

The minister also announced another Rs2.5 million for the improvement of Liaquat Ali Khan Road.

He said that the inauguration of new water pipelines would greatly help meet the requirements of potable water.

Mr Siddiqi said that approval would soon be granted for an amount of Rs50 million from the prime minister’s secretariat for the implementation of some more schemes for Malir.—APPa
