KARACHI: Arbab visits Police Workshop


KARACHI, May 2: Sindh Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim on Monday inspected the vehicles which are to be declared condemned and, at present, lying at the Police Workshop for the purpose of auction. DIG Workshop Mohammed Shahid informed the chief minister that a Land Cruiser had been repaired at a cost of Rs145,000 whereas a police mobile, lying inoperative at the workshop, had been made operational after repair.

Dr Arbab said that government departments in Sindh had been directed that instead of discarding inoperative vehicles, the same should be got repaired and utilized.

He directed that the out of order vehicles belonging to the Zakat and Ushr Department should also be sent to the Police Workshop for repair.

He said that police workshops should be established in every district.

On the occasion, he announced honoraria for the employees of police workshop.

DIG Shahid told the chief minister that 11 out of 50 inoperative vehicles had been made functional while the others were under repair.—APP
