LAHORE, April 29: The Shoaib Akhtar-led Rawalpindi Rams suffered a humiliating eight-wicket defeat against a rampaging Faisalabad Wolves in the last league fixture of the Twenty20 Cup at the Qadhafi Stadium on Thursday night. The Wolves, by winning both Pool ‘C’ matches, qualified for the next phase of the tournament. Asif Hussain led the Wolves’ convincing victory charge with a magnificent 83 off just 49 balls, including two sixes and nine fours. He found Shoaib Akhtar, whose reputation as one of the most fearsome fast bowlers around is on the decline, an ordinary mortal as he drove him with gusto. Earlier, the Rams made 163 for six with Bilal Asad and Naveed Qureshi contributing 42 each.
