LARKANA, April 29: The executive committee of the Chandka Medical College, Larkana, rusticated on Friday four and suspended the admission of five medical students for varying periods for there involvement in clashes on the campus.

The committee is headed by the Principal of CMC, Prof Sikandar Ali Shaikh.

The rustications came in the wake of the clashes on April 12 between the two groups of students — SPSF-SB and Jeay Sindh Students Federation — in the CMC during a cultural programme.

Five students were injured and FIR was registered with the Rehmatpur police station against the SPSF (SB) students. A probe body headed by the Vice Principal, Dr Assadullah Mahar, was constituted which conducted the inquiry into the incident and submitted the report.

The Principal, Surgeon Sikandar Shaikh, on Friday approved the rustication and suspension of admissions documents of the students. Those rusticated included—Jameel Ahmed son of Noor Ahmed Gabol, a final year MBBS student (rusticated for three years), Waqar Ahmed son of Bakhshan Khan Mahar, final year MBBS (rusticated for two years), Abdul Rehman Ogahi son of Mir Mohammad third year MBBS (rusticated for two years), Amjad Hussain Mastoi son of Wali Mohammad final year MBBS (rusticated for one year).

The admissions of the following students were suspended for different years. Amir Abbas Lashari son of Abdul Jabbar Lashari student of third year MBBS (six months) while the admissions of Hussain Bakhsh Dahani son of Dur Mohammad , Abdul Majeed son of Mohammad Moosa Soomro, Abdul Ghaffar son of Ali Akbar Naich (students of fourth year) were suspended for one year only.

Also the admission of Nadeem Ahmed son of Mohammad Essa Bhand student of final year MBBS was suspended for one year.

The Principal of CMC in individual letters dispatched to the students gave the details of the allegations quoting the rules and clauses, the sources said. During the period of rustication and suspension of admissions they (the affected students) would not be allowed to attend the classes and appear in any examinations, the notification issued here on Friday said.

BANDIT KILLED: A notorious bandit Deedar alias Deedo Gadhi, was killed in an encounter with the police on Friday.

Addressing a press conference here on Friday night, the District Police Officer (DPO) Larkana, Dr Sain Rakhiyo Mirani, told newsmen that acting on a tip-off, police cordoned-off a house in village Khuhra near Dokri where the bandit had taken Refuge.

Instead of surrendering to the police, the bandit opened fire and after three hours’ fierce exchange of fire, the bandit was killed, he said.

A G-3 rifle and a single barrel gun were recovered from his possession, the DPO said adding that the notorious bandit was active in Larkana and Dadu district since long.

He was wanted in more than 20 cases of heinous crimes including the kidnapping of Aqib Rajput and Khadim Kutriyo, a Mukhtiarkar from Larkana district.

He said that the killed bandit was the active member of the Butto Abro gang.

Sindh government had announced a fixed an amount Of Rs five lac as head money for the dacoit, the DPO said.

The body of the killed dacoit was taken to the DPO office, Larkana, and till filing of this report, no one had turned up to receive it.

Responding to a question, the DPO said that Sindh government was set to launch a massive anti-dacoit operation in Larkana, Khairpur and Shikarpur district on the pattern of Shahbelo operation to flush out the gangs of dacoits.

The DPO said that different gangs of dacoits had concentrated in this belt, which demanded an extensive operation.
