KARACHI: Due facilities to foreign investors pledged

KARACHI, April 29: City Nazim Niamatullah Khan has said that all possible facilities would be provided to foreign investors for various development projects in Karachi.

Briefing a delegation from Madrid (Spain), led by Olivier Sterckx, about development projects in Karachi here at the Civic Centre, the nazim said that there were countless opportunities for investment in Karachi.

The nazim told the delegation that the city beaches were very attractive and efforts were being made to provide maximum possible facilities to picnickers at the recreational spots.

He said that the city government was looking for companies interested in plantation, development and provision of recreational facilities at Hawkesbay, Paradise Point and other picnic spots.

He said that the city government would encourage local and foreign firms coming forward for the development of coastal areas in Karachi and would examine their offers made on a ‘build, operate and transfer (BOT)’ basis.

“The city government is working on a plan to prepare a new master plan for development work in the city. Besides, there would be a proper solid-waste management System and new buses under the Urban Transport Scheme are also being introduced”, he said.
