KARACHI: 100pc increase in invigilators’ remuneration ordered
KARACHI, April 28: Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan has ordered 100 per cent increase in the remuneration of invigilators deputed at exam centres under the Higher Secondary Education Board, Karachi. Now an Invigilator would get Rs300 for one duty against the previous Rs150.
He was presiding over a high-level meeting on Thursday at the governor house which reviewed arrangements made for the intermediate examinations throughout the province.
The meeting was attended by Sindh Education Adviser Dr Faheemuddin, Secretary Education Hashim Leghari, BIEK Chairman Professor Iftikhar Zaidi, Education EDO Professor Raees Alvi, Additional Secretary Mohsen Mushtaq and other senior officials.
The governor asked for comprehensive and effective arrangements to ensure that exams were held in a peaceful and pleasant atmosphere and keeping in view the weather conditions, all necessary arrangements like cold drinking water, required number of electric fans were also ordered.
Dr Ibad also ordered foolproof arrangements to stop the use of unfair means in exams.
“Anti-cheating law should be fully implemented,” he said adding that photos of those found involved in cheating should be published in newspapers.
The meeting also reviewed the security arrangements around the exams centres.
It was decided that Section 144 would be enforced besides patrolling by Rangers at these centres.
The meeting further decided that the exams centres should be set up along wide roads to ensure better security and patrolling unless it was unavoidable.
The governor ordered that senior teachers should be preferred while deputing staff on exams duty. A college principal should be deputed as superintendent while college teachers should be deployed as invigilators.
He also took serious notice of non-payment of remuneration to the teachers who checked answer copies of the last HSC exams and ordered payment within a week. He called for the deployment of Rangers at 20 sensitive exams centres. If possible, these should be shifted to other places as well.—APP
