Apwa School win opener

KARACHI, April 27: Apwa Government Boys Secondary School (GBSS) Korangi thrashed Nasra School Korangi by ten wickets in the opening match of PCB Inter School Cricket Tournament at National Stadium on Wednesday. Nasra School batting first were bowled out for 88 in 24 overs. Fasiullah hit six boundaries in his 33-ball 31 while extras were 21. Left arm spinner Ammad Rafiq did most of the damage with three wickets for 14 runs in seven overs.

APWA School romped home without any loss in mere five overs. Tariq Ali Khan blasted hurricane unbeaten 49 off just 15 balls laced with six 4s and four 6s and Ammad Rafiq finished 14 not Out with the aid of three boundaries.

Summarised scores: Nasra Korangi 88 all out in 24 overs (Fasiullah 31, Extras 21, Ammad Rafiq 3-14, Rashid Nawaz 2-34). APWA 89-0 in 5 overs (Tariq Ali Khan 49 not out, Ammad Rafiq 14 not out).

VICTORY FOR Peshawar

PESHAWAR: Govt High School No. 3 defeated Govt Higher Secondary School Chamkani by 57 runs in the PCB National Inter-School Cricket Championship played at Gymkhana Cricket ground on Wednesday.—APP
