By Our Correspondent

MANDI BAHAUDDIN, April 27: Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi announced on Wednesday provision of Sui gas to Jokalian village. He also said a girls high school at the village would be upgraded to the higher secondary level and Jokalian would be given the status of a model village.

Speaking at a public gathering at the village, he said scholarships would be offered to the teachers whose classes would show 80 per cent attendance.

He announced setting up of a new telephone exchange at the village and some road projects.

He hailed politicians’ joining the ruling party which, he said, had been reaping the fruit of its sagacious policies.

Earlier, PML MPA Chaudhry Riaz Asghar Warriach welcomed the chief minister and informed him that over Rs4 billion had been spent on the development of the district.

PROTEST: The District Bar Association staged a demonstration against DCO Sheikh Abdus Sattar on Wednesday.

DBA President Safdar Hayat Bosaal led the protest in which the participants marched from the DBA office to the DCO Office. They chanted slogans against the DCO and demanded his immediate transfer.
