HYDERABAD, April 27: The chairman of the Jeay Sindh Mahaz, Mr Abdul Khaliq Junejo, has condemned the kidnapping and subsequent assassination of Hassan Kutchi, the party president of Buffalo Colony, Malir, in Karachi. In a statement faxed to Dawn here on Tuesday, he said it was the second murder of a party activist within just five days.
He said the only crime of the activists, Saleh Mohammad and Mohammad Hassan, was that they had abandoned the politics of extortion and joined the democratic and peaceful struggle of the Jeay Sindh Mahaz.
He alleged that state organizations were trying to convert the national movement of Sindh into terrorism.
Mr Junejo claimed that the party was the only nationalist organization which believed in a peaceful and democratic struggle.
He regretted that the party was being forced to take the path of violence and a so-called nationalist organization was being used for this purpose.
Mr Junejo pledged that the party would continue its peaceful democratic struggle against terrorism and extortion.
He appealed to patriotic writers, intellectuals, professionals and social leaders to perform their due role at such a crucial moment.
CONVOCATION: The Registrar of the Sindh Agriculture University has announced that the third convocation of the university will be held on May 28 which will be presided over by Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan.
