JACOBABAD, April 26: A child died and 160 people were hospitalized after consuming contaminated water in Jacobabad on Tuesday. People of villages around Jacobabad had been contracting gastroenteritis due to the contaminated water being supplied by the taluka municipal administration of Jacobabad.

The child, identified as Ghulam Mond s/o Ali Nawaz, died in the civil hospital where 89 patients, including women and children, had been admitted, while 71 people had been admitted to various private hospitals over the past few days.
