SUKKUR, April 26: Shikarpur police have arrested 10 suspects from the Gulsher Kharoos village, in the kutcha area of Shikarpur district early Tuesday morning. Police claimed the raid was aimed at to arrest the culprits involved in the kidnapping of the judges.

The DSPs of Garhi Yasin, Madeji and Lakhi Ghulam Shah along with a heavy contingent of police raided the village and cordoned off the entire area and conducted house-to-house search and arrested 10 suspects.

Police also took away three tractors and claimed to have recovered arms and ammunition but refused to give details.

KIDNAPPED: A newly–wed woman was kidnapped and three people, including a woman, were injured during a marriage ceremony in the Bakhshoo Ujjan village in the jurisdiction of Dakhan police station, Shikarpur district, on Monday night. Rashid Ali son of Mohammad Raza Ujjan along with his relatives went to solemnize his marriage in the Bakhshoo Ujjan village but the parents of the girl insisted that the Rukhsati would take place in the morning.

On this, an exchange of hot words took place and men from either side attacked each other with wooden sticks and hatchets. As a result of the brawl, three persons including a woman were injured and shifted to the Madeji hospital. Those injured included mother of the bride Rahiman, and her brothers Nadeem and Gulzar Ujjan.

Later, the groom Rashid Ali lodged a report with the Dakhan police station against the brothers of the bride.

The police have arrested Nadeem Ujjan. Later, in the morning, the groom Rashid Ali along with some armed men raided the house of his in-laws and took away his bride and fled.
