KARACHI, April 26: Four ships carrying containers, edible oil, diesel oil and chemicals were accommodated berths at QICT, MPT, Fotoco and EVT during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Tuesday. Meanwhile, another ship with edible oil also arrived at the outer anchorage. Five ships, Maersk Alaska, Marine, Champion, Al Maqwa, Jo Brevik and Min Noble were busy in loading and offloading containers, edible oil, diesel oil, chemicals and iron ore.

A cargo volume of 83,141 tons comprising 71,258 tons of import cargo and 11,883 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Sailing was active as P&O Nedlloyd Colombo and Min Noble left the port while Maersk Alaska was due to depart.

Three ships, CMA CGM Nilgai, Gertrud Salmon and Gertrude, were expected to take berths at QICT, MPT and IOCB. On arrival side three ships, Chemstar Brave, Southern Imperial and Great Well, were due to arrive on Tuesday while Oranje was due on Wednesday.
