Jhagra calls on Qazi

LAHORE, April 23: ARD secretary-general and PML-N leader Iqbal Zafar Jhagra called on MMA president and Jamaat-i-Islami amir Qazi Husain Ahmad here on Friday to convey a message of Mian Nawaz Sharif and discuss with him political situation. Mr Jhagra, accompanying some local PML-N leaders, also presented a bouquet on behalf of Mr Sharif to the Qazi, who had fully recovered after a heart surgery.

ARD vice-president Mansoor Ali Khan also called on the Qazi. He said the ARD had supported the MMA’s April 2 strike and both the alliances were unanimous on restricting the armed forces to its prime duty of defending the national frontiers.

Jamaat leaders Mian Tufail Muhammad, Chaudhry Rehmat Elahi, Chaudhry Aslam Saleemi and Syed Munawwar Hassan also called on Qazi Husain to enquire after him.

Meanwhile, delivering a Juma sermon at Mansoora mosque, Mr Hassan said the real message of Seeratul Nabi (PBUH) was a continuous struggle against the evil.

But, he regretted, the rulers who were addressing countless Seeratul Nabi conferences were conceding to every unjustified demand of the evil.

He said the Ummah was being forced to stay divided and work as a tool in the hands of the colonists.
