KARACHI, April 17: The City Nazim, Niamatullah Khan, has said most ongoing development projects would be completed in the next three months. “These development projects would add to the beauty of Karachi,” he said while laying the foundation stone of a park known as ‘5-C Park’ and inaugurating another one called the Al-Khidmat Family Park in Gulberg Town last night.

The construction of model parks has provided healthy environments and facilities of recreation for children, women, youth as well as elders, he said, adding, “The 11 model parks are a memorable gift by the city government to the citizens.”

The town administration and union councils are developing a number of more such parks. Some 82 parks have been developed in the Gulberg Town alone while 10 more parks are under construction, he told.

The nazim pointed out that besides parks, the restoration and improvement of playgrounds had provided the youth with opportunities of positive activities.

The city government, he said had brought improvement in every field. It had improved the condition of schools and colleges, established merit in admissions and put the city on the path of progress with the participation of people, which had done away with the looming despair about the future of Karachi.

“The future of Karachi is bright and the people are confident about it,” he said, adding that in order to ensure the continuity of the process of development, it was necessary to have an honest and able leadership.
