KARACHI, April 17: The Environmental Protection Agency of Sindh in collaboration with the National University of Science and Technology will organize a six-day training workshop on hospital waste management from April 18 to 23. The workshop, supported by federal health ministry, will be inaugurated by Sindh Enviro-nment Adviser Noman Saigol.

Separate training sessions have been arranged for hospital administrators, doctors, paramedics, nurses and other junior cadre staff respectively in the workshop. A special session has also been arranged for master trainers. Health care providers, administrative staff, and sanitation staff from 20 various hospitals of Karachi and Hyderabad will attend the moot.

They would be provided an opportunity for a field visit to the AKU where they would be shown the working of incinerators and other arrangements for environment friendly and safe disposal of hospital waste.

The State Minister for Environment, Malik Amin Aslam, will be the chief guest at the closing ceremony.—APP
