KARACHI, April 16: The Super Marathon Bridge tournament began last evening at Aslam Bridge Hall. Nineteen teams are participating in the 7-Round Swiss Movement. Among the top contenders are Data Steel, Havoc, Bridgettes, Solox,Chandna, Attackers and Candyland. When the play started for the first round of 16 Boards, Data Steel faced Havoc and had the better 17-13 V.P.

Bridgettes outpaced Maq 24-06, Chandna had an edge over Cavaliers 17-13, Attackers wiped out Mahmood 25-5, Four Bidders had an easy victory over Four Bidders Club 20-10 and Pak Oil had the better of Ghaffar 17-13. Surprisingly Salim defeated Candyland 19-11 and Solox lost to Alliance 19-11.

In the second round, Data Steel kept their winning form and outplayed Salim 25-05, Havoc defeated Ghafar 20-10, Maq improved on points table defeating Four Bidders Club 18-12 and Bridgettes played a draw against Attackers sharing 30 V.P. equally.

Candyland and Solox also played draw 15-15, Four Bidders kept their winning form beating Alliance 17-13 V.P. After a bye, Pak-Norway faced Chandna and registered their first victory 18-12, thus joining the first row. Cavaliers defeated EFU 17-13.

Pak Oil won their second round match against Winsome 18-12. Data Steel fielded Masud Saleem pairing with Tariq Rasheed Khan, getting brilliant support from Rashidul Ghazi and Rashid Jafer.
