Nadra to sign MoU with SNGPL

Published April 17, 2005

ISLAMABAD, April 16: National Database & Registration Authority (Nadra) would sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Sui Southern Gas Pipelines Limited (SSGPL) on April 20 in Karachi to collect bills from consumers through automated cash collection kiosks recently introduced by the authority, a source in the authority told Dawn on Friday.

The source said similar MoUs would also be signed with other utility services providers like Wapda, Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) and Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) in future.

The source said kiosks have been built with Biometric Identification and Online Verification technologies.

The online payment kiosk is designed to enable the consumers to pay utility bills and perform electronic banking following proper authentication from biometric and online verification systems using the Computerised National Identity Cards (CNICs).

The kiosk offers a convenient and low cost alternative for

payment of outstanding bills

and other financial transac-

tions without compromising

on customer service and efficiency.

These kiosks can be installed at public places and will be connected to Kneader’s National Data Warehouse through secure internet connections.
