Power supply to Nooriabad restored

Bureau Report

HYDERABAD, April 15: Power supply to Nooriabad industrial estate was restored on Friday night after six days massive breakdown had occurred last Sunday due to the dismantling of concrete poles of Wapda’s high-tension line near Nooriabad.

The industrialists of Nooriabad have estimated losses resulting from the power shutdown at around Rs10 million.

The industrial zone gets power from Kalo Kohar grid station where power supply has been restored, said Kanwar Zia-ur-Rehman, president of the Executive Club of Trade and Industry, Nooriabad. Hesco has so far estimated the losses at more than Rs30 million.

Power supply was disrupted to Nooriabad and its adjoining towns between the nights of Sunday and Monday after around 14-concrete poles of Wapda’s high transmission line were destroyed by miscreants.
