CM made Saba quit PML-N, says Saad

By Our Staff Reporter

LAHORE, April 14: PML-N MNA Khwaja Saad Rafiq says the Punjab chief minister himself is responsible for making MPA Saba Sadiq to quit the party on whose ticket she had been elected. At a press conference here on Thursday, he said it was like a personal attack by the chief minister on his family. Saad treats Saba like his sister and she joined hands with the ruling party on Wednesday.

The PML-N leader said earlier the chief minister had prompted Qaiser Amin Butt to defect the party.

Such acts would not add to the honour of the chief minister, Saad said.

He said if Saba had defected to enjoy power, she should stay where she had reached. But, he said, if she had taken the decision because of the internal situation in the PML-N, she should come back and try to rectify it.

Rana Tajammal Husain, Rana Mashood, Sheikh Amjad Aziz, Mehr Ishtiaq and others present at the news conference also expressed their resentment over Saba Sadiq’s decision.

Saad said Asif Zardari should be allowed to come back.

As for the possibility of the PML-N leaders and workers to welcome the spouse of the PPP chairperson, Saad said they needed no invitation to reach the airport.
