Kasur Road dualization in one year

KASUR, April 11: President Pervez Musharraf inaugurated on Monday the Rs2 billion Lahore-Kasur Road dualization project. Addressing a public meeting later, he announced a number of uplift projects for Kasur district. The package included gas for all villages around Kasur at a cost of Rs280 million, electrification of villages, bricklining of water courses, Rs400 million for farm-to-market roads, clean drinking water and rehabilitation of Rohli nullah.

He also promised a Rs250 million bridge over Ravi, a flyover at Changa Manga, multi-purpose halls in Kasur Public School and Chunian girls college.

Praising Foreign Minister Khurshid Kasuri, he asked people to elect honest people like him in the next local and general elections.

In his address earlier, Kasuri thanked the president for visiting the area.

He said the road project would be completed in a year’s time by Punjab Communication and Works Department with an initial amount of Rs2 billion.

Chief Minister Pervez Elahi in his address criticised the MMA.
