‘600,000 to get vocational training’

By Our Correspondent

HARIPUR, April 10: Minister of State for Finance Omar Ayub Khan said on Saturday that the federal government was taking steps to tackle unemployment and poverty and at least 600,000 youths would be trained for different technical job markets by the next year. Speaking at the inaugural ceremony of a water supply project at Tahli village in Beer area, he said Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz had approved establishment of technical skills development centres at Tehsil level, where youths would be provided free boarding facilities and offered remuneration.

He said the livestock sector was being developed on modern lines and farmers were being given facilities as the agriculture sector had a great contribution in absorbing unskilled manpower.
