KARACHI: 3 die in separate road accidents

KARACHI, April 10: Three people, including a young girl, died in separate road accidents in different parts of the city on Sunday. Police said four-year-old Yasrab was going along with her uncle, Abdul Wahid, on a scooter when it rammed into a car due to an apparent failure of brakes in Nazimabad. The girl suffered serious injuries and was taken to the nearby Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Mr Wahid and his other niece, who was also travelling with them, also suffered injuries in the accident.

A 16-year-old boy died and his friend was injured when they were hit by a speeding truck in Korangi.

Police said Mohammad Haseen died on the spot and his friend Zeeshan was injured after being hit by the truck (LS-2359).

The injured was taken to the JPMC for treatment.

Police arrested driver Mohammad Saleem and impounded the vehicle.

In another accident, a pedestrian was run over by a bus in Keamari.

Police said Sabir, 30, was hit by a speeding bus (JA-5787) in the limits of the Jackson police station. The victim was taken to the Civil Hospital where he died during treatment.

Police reportedly nabbed the driver.
