Tribute paid to newsmen

KARACHI, April 7: The Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) paid tributes yesterday to the courage and dedication of journalists killed during the US attack on a hotel in Iraq on April 8, 2003, and regretted that no proper investigation had ever been conducted into the incident. Three journalists, including a reporter of the Qatar-based Al-Jazeera, Tareq Ayyoub, were killed in the US attack. Several mediamen were injured.

The PFUJ marks the day as part of a world-wide observance. It said in a press release that it shared the view of the international media fraternity that the incident had never been impartially investigated.
