Crop damaged by rain in N. Areas

By Our Correspondent

GILGIT, April 7: Heavy rain which started on Tuesday night is continuing in the Northern Areas, causing road blockades and damaging crops in all the six districts. Sources said that landslides blocked the Karakoram Highway at Luttar in district Kohistan, 250km south of Gilgit, and traffic between the Northern Areas and Rawalpindi had come to a standstill. The roads leading to Skardu, Astore, Hunza, Nagar, Ishkomen, Ghizer and Chitral have been hit by small-scale landslides.
