67 weapons seized in Gilgit

By Our Correspondent

GILGIT, April 7: The law enforcement agencies seized at least 67 weapons, including 40 legal weapons, 62 detonators and a large number of ammunition from the cantonment area in Gilgit on Thursday. Northern Areas Home Secretary Hafeezur Rahman said they had not arrested or detained any one in connection with their disarmament drive on Thursday.

Meanwhile, regional Chief Secretary Nadeem Manzoor in a notification asked all the government employees to strictly attend their duties within three days after issuance of the notice on Thursday. If they failed to attend their respective offices, action would be taken against them under the provisions of the removal from government service (special powers) Ordinance 2000.
