DADU, April 7: Three UC nazims of the district have accused the DCO of unfair distribution of funds for development schemes. Speaking to journalists in the office of nazim UC-4 on Thursday, Ghaffar Khero, Nisar Shaikh and Hussain Shah said the district was being run without the district nazim ever since its division into two districts. They criticised the DCO for not paying due attention to basic needs of people and non-provision of funds for development works to UCs on parity.

They said only development works of Rs2 million were executed in UC-4 while packages of millions of rupees were given to the selected UCs.

They said since October, the district council session had not been held and work of elected representatives remained suspended.

They called for solving people’s problems through the district council.

They charged that the DCO was inefficient.

They said on one hand, the government was claiming elimination of corruption while on the other hand officials of the district were getting 52 per cent commission on development works.

They held the DCO responsible for corruption in the district.

They said the session of the council should be presided over by a member of penal of presiding officer.

They said drainage, sanitation and water supply systems of the city had collapsed but no one was paying heed.
