NAWABSHAH, April 6: The acting president of PPP, Nawabshah district, MPA Ghulam Qadir Chandio, was remanded in police custody for two days by the judicial magistrate-II here on Wednesday. The PPP leader was immediately whisked away to the Daur police after completion of legal formalities. A panel of lawyers comprising Barrister Jamil Ahmed, Syed Nasir Shah and Ziaul Hassan Leghari, advocates, represented the MPA.
Talking to newsmen before being taken away by police, Mr Chandio said that he was not afraid of imprisonment pledging that PPP workers would accord a tumultuous welcome to Asif Ali Zardari in Lahore on April 16.
